The KX-730 Fibrograph is a high-performance and cost-effective cotton fiber-length distribution measure instrument. The instrument’s steady hardware is made up of precision digital circuit module, LCD screen unit and embedded control module. And it’s software provides a friendly operation interface supported by a reliable database.
The instrument can primely meet the needs of textile industry field, commercial fiber-checking field and national cotton quality-detecting institutions with the rapid and accurate testing method to determine the upper Half Average Length (HAL), Average Length (AL), Short Fiber Ratio (SFR) and Regularity Index (RI) of cotton fiber sample.
The instrument is based on the random distribution phenomena of cotton fibers exist in nature, and also based on the theory of negative correlation between the fiber number in the “detecting sample cut-plane” and the luminous intensity through this cut-plane.
Randomly catch some fibers from cotton band with the special combo as the detected sample, and scan the sample from bottom to top, at the same time record the result of luminous intensity, finally send results to the PC & software, all these steps compose the whole process of instrument operation. Put a clean comb in the slot of sample catcher, keeping the pins upon. Send some cotton fibers into the container of sample catcher, and press fibers to the multi-holes sample catcher plane, making sure that fibers surface under the even pressure. Turn the spinning device one rotation anticlockwise, to drive the sample comb to sweep the multi-holes sample catcher plane and catch random fibers as the test sample. The sample on the comb will pass through the pin fabric and become the complete sample fiber beards. Finally take out the comb with sample. (For more information, please refer to Appendix A)
Attention: check the sample, if the fiber beards are too disorderly or the number of fibers is not within rang of AMOUNT, you must discard the sample and catch another one.
When you catch another sample, you’d better turn over the cotton fibers on the multi-holes sample catcher plane, and repeat above steps.
Periodically clean the fiber trash on the pin fabric of sample catcher. Before catching a new cotton fiber sample, you must clear the pin fabric to avoid old cotton sample interfering with the new test result.
