Definition and operation of Rubbing Color Fastness
1.Rubbing Color Fastness
Rubbing color fastness refers to the color change degree of colored textile material caused by a certain way of friction with the small white cloth on the specific equipment.
Its principle is to rule the sample size of the textile samples with clamping device on friction tester platform, then respectively with a dry friction cloth and cloth of a wet friction friction, finally with white cloth dipped in color degree evaluation basis, as reference standard of the grey CARDS, is divided into five grades, the rank, the greater the better said rubbing fastness, rubbing fastness of fabric will seriously affect its use.
Put a piece of (50×50) mm friction cloth (standard white cotton cloth) under standard atmosphere (temperature 20℃±2℃, humidity 65%±4%), after humidification (more than 4 hours) on the friction head, so that the direction of the friction cloth is consistent with the allowable direction of the friction head, the running speed is one reciprocating friction cycle per second, a total of 10 cycles of friction. The motion of friction on the sample was (104±3) mm and the downward pressure applied was (9±0.2) N. After completing the entire 10 cycles, the friction cloth was removed, moistened (for more than 4 hours), and any excess fibers from the friction cloth that might affect the rating were removed.
2. Rubbing Color Fastness TEST :
Rubbing Color Fastness Tester is designed to determine the color fastness of textiles to dry or wet rubbing, and provided with a crocking finger with a downward force of 9 Newton and the facility for mounting standard crocking fabric. A pinned acrylic sample holder ensures rapid sample mounting and repeatability of results. It is electronically driven to minimize operator variation. It can be used to test woven and knitted materials, leather, electrochemical metal sheet, etc. It complies in full with the requirements of GB420-90, GB/T5712-1997, GB/T3920 -1997 and JIS, AATCC, ISO105, BS.
3.How to operate Rubbing Color Fastness Test
1. If tested sample is fabric or carpet, you must prepare two groups of samples with no less than 50mm*200mm, and each group contains two samples. One group is the length direction of samples is paralleled to warp yarn, used to dry rubbing and wet rubbing in warp direction; the other is the longitudinal direction of samples is paralleled to weft yarn, used to dry rubbing and wet rubbing in weft direction.
2. Clean the unit and lubricate each motional part, check them for agility and fastness before a test, then connect to power supply.
3. Turn the 13. Support bar stand, then reciprocating slider will be lifted up.
4. Put specimen on the test bench flatly and smoothly, then turn the 1.left clamping device counter-clockwise, and turn the 1.right clamping device clockwise to hold the specimen firmly.
5. Put the white test cloth on the 14.head of crocking finger firmly; push the snap ring upward to secure the test cloth.
6. Put down the 13.support bar to lower the reciprocating slider.
7. Set times of reciprocating stroke, before each test make sure the counter is zero or reset it. When doing the wet crock testing, put the immersed wet cloth in the rolls on the 6. Extracting device and extracting it to the required humidity.
Definition and operation of Perspiration Fastness
1. Perspiration Fastness
Perspiration Fastness refers to the degree of color change caused by the colored fabric after it is soaked in acid or alkaline solution with a variety of fiber cloth for a certain time and then treated under certain conditions, and the degree of color stain caused by a variety of fiber cloth.
Perspiration fastness due to the different components of artificially prepared sweat, so generally in addition to separate measurement, but also with other color fastness combined assessment. Perspiration fastness is graded from 1 to 5, the greater the value, the better.
2. Perspiration Fastness Test
Perspiration Fastness Tester is used to determine color fastness to water, sea water and perspiration of textiles. And this instrument special designed according to the requirements of the test methods of ISO, AATCC, etc. The Color Fastness to Perspiration Tester consists of hammer, spring pressure rack, seat screw, plastic board, base frame, etc.
Put the composite specimen between the plastic boards at first, and then put it between the base frame and spring pressure rack. Put the hammer that the test standard required on the spring pressure board, at last tighten the seat screw, and put them all into the constant temperature oven (Color Fastness to Perspiration Oven).
The specific operations refer to the test standards ISO 105-E01/E02/E04-1994, AATCC 15/106/107-2002 etc.
