Determination of rheological properties of polymer materials during processing
In the mixing process of polymer material in mixer, various control devices and test means are used to study the change process of material in solid state, high elastic state and viscous flow state and the reason for the change. The gel plasticization time and melt viscosity of polymer materials were studied.
The torque rheometer mainly consists of three parts:
1 A control system for setting experimental parameters and displaying experimental results;
2. Electromechanical drive system, used to control or display the experimental temperature, rotor speed, pressure, and torque changes with time;
3.The replaceable test parts are generally equipped with mixer device or screw extruder device as required:
The mixer (example Figure 1), consisting of a "∞" type detachable mixing chamber and a pair of rotors rotating at different speeds, opposite each other. In the mixing room, the rotor rotates toward each other, shear the material, so that the material is forced to mix in the mixing room; The two rotors have different speeds, to make material dispersive mixing in their gaps.
